Next, we will take a look at the basic policies and growth strategies in the new medium-term management plan.
Let me start by talking about our perception of business circumstances that constitute the basis of planning.
Business circumstances have changed drastically since the medium- and long-term management plan was created in FY2014. Our group defined the eight points specified in the green box on the right as particularly notable.
The first one is intensification of the global competition between cities and the competition between areas within Tokyo. Our business is based in the Shibuya area. It is characterized by a fusion of different cultures and the distribution of information. We can see that it has great potential.
Other points are:
- The lowest-class cap rate in history;
- Stable economic growth in the United States;
- Growth of demand of inbound tourists;
- Growth of stock-related markets;
- Growth of demand related to senior citizens;
- Rapid technological innovations such as AI and IoT;
and finally,
- Mounting public attention to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
Those factors, which used to be regarded as non-financial strategies, are now of increasing significance.
Amid these drastic changes in business circumstances, we believe that our Group has such extensive business domains that we will be more likely to acquire a range of business opportunities.
