Now, I will talk about examples of our sustainability initiatives.
First, this is about the completion of Tokyu Land’s switching of all electric power used at its offices and facilities that it owns to 100% renewable energy, which is one of the criteria for achieving RE100.
Leveraging the characteristic of our company that we operate a power generation business, we soon achieved the switch to electric power generated from renewable energy by combining a variety of methods, including utilizing non-fossil fuel energy certificates with tracking information for Tokyu Fudosan renewable energy power plants, and the direct supply of power generated from renewable energy at non-FIT power plants to our facilities.
In the future, we will continue to submit applications aimed at achieving RE100, as we accumulate a track record of using renewable energy.
Next, this is about our data center business, which we operate using electric power generated from renewable energy.
In the data center business, electric power consumption, which is necessary for the business, and the accompanying CO2 emissions, were a major issue.
In response to this problem, in Ishikari City, Hokkaido, we began considering the development of a data center where the electric power it needed to operate was supplied by renewable energy facilities.
The details will be considered at a later date, but we will proceed with this project as an initiative that combines the diversification of our business assets as a developer and the Renewable Energy Business, which is a notable characteristic of the Group.
Finally, this is an example of the recognition of our initiatives targeting a recycling-oriented society by extending the lives of existing residences.
Abiko Village (built in 1977), developed by Tokyu Land Corporation and managed and operated by Tokyu Community together with residents, received the BELCA Award (Long Life Division) alongside the management association, while Tokyu Re・design was also awarded a national award for excellence (Design Division) in the JERCO Reform Contest 2022, as a good example of urban renovation.
